Owner's engineering

We represent the project owner on MV / HV electrical matters, from the definition of needs to energisation.

The project owner rarely has an HV specialist in house, while the contractor or integrator works within its own cost and schedule constraints. We review what is proposed, check compliance and technical correctness, and state what needs to be changed, as early as possible in the project.

Our comments are ranked blocking, major and minor, with a reference to the requirement (contract, standard, network operator) or the calculation that supports it. We do not issue a comment without a justification.

For the critical calculations (short-circuit, voltage plan, protection coordination, earthing), we carry out our own check calculations in addition to reviewing the contractor's notes.

01What we do

Before construction

  • Definition of needs and architecture
  • Drafting or review of the CCTP
  • Technical bid analysis

During construction

  • Design review (VISA) of execution studies
  • Review of substation drawings
  • FAT / SAT follow-up
  • Energisation and close-out of punch-list items

06Frequently asked questions

Owner's engineering or design and supervision engineering?

As owner's engineer, we advise the project owner and carry out the checks. We do not take on full design and supervision engineering (maîtrise d'œuvre). We do, however, provide ad hoc support to the teams that do, on MV / HV aspects.

Full or targeted review?

Both are possible. A review can be limited to compliance with the client's requirements, with the major issues reported.
